Auto-renew is a date problem, not a procurement philosophy
Get mailed before notice is due.
Finance finds out about a bad auto-renew when the card is charged. The notice period was 30 days ago. A calendar of vendor dates, with reminder days that match the notice clause, is cheaper than another year of a dead tool.
What belongs here
Anything that auto-renews or needs a written cancel: SaaS, insurance (if not in a dedicated tool), cleaning, waste, telecoms, retainers.
Remind on the notice date, not only on the end date
If the contract ends 1 July and notice is 30 days, the important reminder is 1 June. Put that in reminder days, or store the notice date as its own item if you prefer.
Owners
Each vendor has a person who actually uses it. They should get the mail. Procurement can be the backup.
FAQ
Is this a CLM?
No. It does not negotiate clauses. It does not forget the date.
Can I see a month view?
Use the list sorted by expiry, or a calendar feed if your plan includes it.
